Fandom: Eureka

Eureka takes place in a high tech community of the same name, located somewhere in the Pacific Northwest and inhabited entirely by brilliant scientists working on new scientific advancements for the United States government that frequently go disastrously awry. The town's existence and location are closely guarded secrets.
U.S. Marshal Jack Carter stumbles upon Eureka while transporting a fugitive prisoner - his own rebellious teenage daughter Zoe - back to her mother's home in Los Angeles. When a faulty experiment cripples the sheriff of Eureka, Carter finds himself quickly chosen to fill the vacancy. Despite not being a genius like most members of the town, Jack Carter's ability to connect to others repeatedly saves Eureka, and indeed the entire world, from one would-be disaster after another.

Fandom: Life Unexpected

LIFE UNEXPECTED is a coming-of-age family drama that centers around 16-year-old Lux, who was given up for adoption at birth but never adopted. When she is put back into the custody of her estranged-since-high-school birth parents, radio show host Cate and bartender Baze, the three form an unlikely family, complicated by the fact that Cate is engaged to her co-host, Ryan. Cate and Baze struggle with becoming insta-parents and raising a daughter they are only now getting to know, while Ryan must deal with the fact that Cate's feelings for Baze aren't entirely in the past. Lux, meanwhile, tries to reconcile her past with her present, often torn between her old friends from foster care and her new family. As the unlikely trio begins to grow up together, Lux encourages Baze to reveal what she already knows -- that he is in love with Cate, just like a part of Cate is in love with him. Baze tries to stop Cate's wedding, but when he's too late, Cate marries Ryan. Heading into next season, our unlikely threesome become a foursome as Ryan joins the family.

Fandom: Legend of the Seeker

The story takes place in the world author Terry Goodkind created in his The Sword of Truth fantasy novel series. The three main provinces are Westland, the Midlands and D'Hara. Westland is separated from the Midlands by a magical boundary, which was created to prevent any magic from entering Westland. On the other side of the Midlands is D'Hara, which is ruled by Darken Rahl. The Confessors oversee the welfare of the people of the Midlands.

The first 22 episodes, are loosely tied to the first book of The Sword of Truth series Wizard's First Rule. Some of the stories feature events and characters not encountered in the books, while other loosely adapt events from the book. The story begins after the invasion of Darken Rahl's army into the Midlands. Kahlan Amnell (Bridget Regan), a Confessor, ventures into Westland in search of a wizard and the Seeker, who has been prophesied to defeat Rahl. Kahlan finds the wizard, Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander (Bruce Spence), and the Seeker, Richard Cypher (Craig Horner), who is forced to accept his destiny. Together, they set off on a journey to seek out Rahl and his minions.

It's that time again!

It’s June, which means it is time for the mid-year overview update! Overviewers, please take a few minutes to update your overviews. (Tip: enlist your flist! Post in your LJ and ask people to take a look at it and suggest new comms or weed out dead ones. Spread the work around, I say!)

As always, this is also the time to surrender overviews you no longer wish to maintain. If you’ve lost interest in the fandom, or had a baby, or are being over-run by Tribbles and just don’t have the time, drop me a comment and let me know.

Surrendered overviews currently up for grabs include Supernatural and Lord of the Rings. Get ‘em while they’re hot, kids.

I’ve also eliminated the “fandoms up for grabs” list that used to live in the Master List post. If there is no overview, consider it up for grabs!

Give a hoot, do an overview.
